Men's tennis wraps up play at Tennessee Fall Invitational

The University of Tennessee at Chattanooga men's tennis wrapped up competition at the Tennessee Fall Invitational in Knoxville, Tenn., today. The Mocs dropped their four matches this morning, but still had some solid results against a tough field. 

Senior Manuel Barroetavena (Buenos Aires, Argentina) fell in the semifinals of the Orange Singles Consolation bracket.  He lost to Xavier's Mesa Mei in three sets (3-6, 6-3, 1-0 (3)). Fellow senior William Disterdick (Hixson, Tenn.) also lost in three sets, falling to Wright State's Sean Yun (1-6, 6-3, 1-0 (7)) in the consolation finals of the Volunteer Singles Draw. 

The Mocs also competed in two doubles matches today. Senior Ankit Chopra (Chandigrah, India) and Stephen Crofford (Franklin, Tenn.) lost in the consolation finals of the White bracket. They were beaten by Tennessee Tech's Vasily Eremeev and Artem Tarasov 8-5. Disterdick and sophomore Pavels Grigorjevs (Riga, Latvia) lost in the finals of the Volunteer main draw to Western Michigan's Jimmy Beckwith and Stephen Payne 8-6. 

The Mocs are back on the court next weekend in the ITA Regionals Oct. 19-23 in Memphis, Tenn.
