After repeated downplay and denial, the office of Sen. Bob Corker has confirmed what the senator and former Chattanooga mayor has been saying for weeks—he is not on the list of candidates being vetted for vice president by GOP candidate Mitt Romney.

According to a Knoxville News Sentinel report, Corker's office said Wednesday that Romney's campaign was not in talks with the senator.

Talk of Corker as a possible VP candidate arose this spring after a handful of speculative articles mentioned him as a possible choice. But whenever he was asked to comment on the possibility, Corker dismissed the notion.
