Smith appoints new principals

On Monday, Hamilton County Superintendent Rick Smith announced his appointment of 13 new principals for the school system for the upcoming 2012-2013 school year. 

In a news release, Smith said at least six of the principal vacancies were because of the impending retirement of current administrators. The new principals will begin working in their positions on July 1. 

The list of principal appointments is as follows:

—Gail Chuy: East Hamilton Middle/High (current principal at Red Bank High School)

—Justin Robertson: Red Bank High School (current principal at Brown Middle School)

—Jane Reynolds: Brown Middle School (current assistant principal at Brown Middle School)

—Uras Agee: Brainerd High School (current principal at Columbia High School in Dekalb County, Ga.)

—Christian Earl: Dalewood Middle School (currently an assistant principal in South Carolina)

—LeAngela Rogers: Hixson Middle School (current assistant principal at Hunter Middle School)

—Sandra Barnwell: Snow Hill Elementary School (current principal at Hixson Middle School)

—Janice Scott: DuPont Elementary School (current principal at Snow Hill Middle School)

—Sharon Dodds: Smith Elementary School (current assistant principal at Smith Elementary School)

—Debra Anderson: McConnell Elementary School (current assistant principal at McConnell Elementary School)

—Randall Bell: Alpine Crest Elementary School (current assistant principal at Hixson Elementary School)

—Cheri Grant: Woodmore Elementary School (current principal at Red Bank Elementary School)

—Penny Leffew: Wolftever Creek Elementary School (current principal at North Hamilton County Elementary School)
