The 6th Annual Association for Visual Arts Gallery Hop is Saturday from 2 p.m. until 9 p.m. with nearly 20 participating galleries and five artists' studios open to the public for the day.
Seasoned hoppers know to plan ahead as there are multiple activities happening at most of the participating venues.
From blowing your own glass ornaments to watching painters create new work, the annual art event has become known as a multifaceted opportunity for the public to meet local artists, watch live art demonstrations, and learn about various creative processes while touring studios and galleries.
Locations on the North Shore, Southside and Bluff View districts are included.
There is a convenient downloadable map created for your smart phone as well as a printable map and guide for your pocket with detailed location and schedule information.

2011 Biennial Department of Art Faculty Show at the Cress Gallery of Art on the campus of the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga features 14 individual artists including new and longstanding educators in the department.
The gallery is #16 on the AVA Gallery Hop map.
"Stop-Gap" showing at Tanner Hill Gallery will feature the works of Leah Balis, Mark Bradley-Shoup, Bradley Haston, Ron Buffington, and Nicole Jean Hill. Various styles of painting, sculpture, and photography will be shown exploring the theme of visualizing the gap between abstract and representational styles of art.
The gallery is #14 on the AVA Gallery Hop map.
Townsend Atelier is celebrating their one year anniversary in their Southside location with a special exhibition featuring the work of over 50 students and instructors who have participated in classes and workshops over the last 12 months.
The location is #15 on the AVA Gallery Hop map.
Front Gallery is hosting its host it’s second sculpture exhibition of the year featuring fiber installations by Atlanta artist Ann Rowles and mixed media 3-D works and large drawings by South Carolina artist Linda McCune.
Front Gallery is also home to the artist studios of Chenoweth and Halligan which are #21 on the AVA Gallery Hop map.
The Discoteca Demolition Project is still here. The building and the 7 artists who are painting murals and graffiti all over its exterior stand strong and invite you to help them finish covering the small brick building with paint during the Hop. Rumor has it the old Tienda Jalisco taco stand will be in the lot on the corner once again as well, but just this once. 3 p.m. - 6 p.m. Spray paint provided while supplies last.
The location and activities are not officially part of the hop but are situated a few blocks east of Hart Gallery (#6) at 304 East Main St.
